New National Sports Day celebration to be held later this month

A new National Sports Day celebration which was endorsed by Cabinet will be held later this month.

Minister for Youth and Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou says the philosophy is to allow all citizens to set aside the National Sports Day public holiday on Friday the 26th of June this year to participate in sporting activities.

Tuitubou says the government is fully committed to laying the foundation for sporting excellence at all levels of the society.

Meanwhile, Senior Sports Officer, Sitiveni Rokoro says details on this celebration will be released soon.
