Good news for the people residing in Matai-lobau District in Naitasiri as they will now benefit from the $1.6m worth newly constructed Nabena Irish Crossing.
Fiji Roads Authority’s Program Manager for Bridges and Jetties, Nixon Toremana said the new Irish crossing will make a big difference in the lives of the people of Nabena who will now be able to access both sides of the river safely.
He said the local communities can once again safely connect to markets, health access and education opportunities.
Meanwhile, work on the Irish crossing in Wauosi in Navosa is expected to be completed by the end of next month.
The construction of the Matewale Irish crossing in Nadroga-Navosa is also expected to commence next month.
