88-year-old Ratu Kinijoji Vosailagi who is the new Ka Levu of Nadroga will not be accorded with the traditional installation ceremony when he officially takes up the paramount leadership position next week.
Speaking on behalf of the Tokatoka Nakuruvakarua, Ratu Tevita Volavola says the new Ka Levu has preferred to have a small and simple ceremony because of his age.
Volavola says the Ka Levu has requested that the Vanua of Nakuruvakadua organize a function where he will seek the blessings of the church and this can be witnessed by the chiefs for the conformation of position.
He says the Tokatoka of Nakuruvanua has traditionally informed the vanua of their decision and the messages has been conveyed to its traditional links within Nadroga.
The ceremony will be held at the chiefly village of Cuvu next Friday.
