Corrado Pampaloni is the new Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Fiji.
Pampaloni says he will be working closely with Fijian officials regarding climate change and the post‑recovery for TC Winston.
He says there are a lot of new things they can and will do as it is of high concern in the country.
EU Ambassador to Fiji and the Pacific Andrew Jacobs says Pampaloni will bring a lot of experience as he has been in the delegation for a good number of years.
Jacobs says Pampaloni has worked in a number of countries around which will help him in the work he is about to journey on.
He says there will be a lot of work to do for the next few years as there are big plans for Fiji.
Meanwhile, Hibiscus Queen Anne Dunn was also present at the event.
