The Fiji Roads Authority has made sure roads are improved to be able to withstand adverse weather conditions such as Tropical Cyclone Winston.
This follows the New Capital Resilience Program undertaken by the Fiji Roads Authority aimed at improving the ability of road assets to bounce back better after adverse events such as floods or cyclones.
They say that with a total amount of $3,438,184 put aside to solve the issue, the FRA will now be able to improve road conditions to be resilient to adverse events.
FRA said some key areas which they will be focusing on is the Rewa Delta flood resilience and the coastal erosion protection for Ovalau, Cawaci and Vuma.
Meanwhile, FRA said that approximately 13 sites have been identified between Nabulini and Nayavu village in Wainibuka regarding the culvert outlet protection works.
