Religious organisations must be acknowledged for their contributions to the education of our children.
Speaking at the opening of the new Christian Mission Fellowship Secondary School at Tacirua East, Minister for Education Dr. Mahendra Reddy said religious groups sacrifice their time to build schools and the government provides students with education.
Dr. Reddy told the students to utilize the facilities well and pursue their dreams so that they can positively contribute to the community.
95 pioneer students who are in year 9 will attend the new CMF Secondary school.
The $160,000 three classroom block is funded by the government.
Chairman and Manager of the CMF Secondary School, Pastor Emosi Toroca said the church’s plan is to open a $6.5 million secondary school which will be located at a new site.
Toroca said the new secondary school from year 9 to 13 is expected to open in 2017.
He added that the church has already purchased the land and earth works have already started which cost $500,000.
