For years people of Ba have faced difficulties in visiting the Ba Mission Hospital during the cyclone season because the entrance would be underwater during heavy rain.
Acting Divisional Medical Officer West Dr. Susana Nakalevu says this is one of the reasons why they have relocated the hospital to higher ground.
Nakalevu said the new hospital will also have improved radiology services and sophisticated equipments.
She also said extra services at the hospital will carter for people in the Ra and Tavua Sub divisions.
Nakalevu said the construction of the hospital will start from February next year and the hospital is expected to be open in 2017.
The total project costs $30 million.
