Navosai resident, Vilitati Rakikau has asked the national development plan team if the government can give an assurance that a coup will not happen in the future.
Rakikau made this submission during the consultation at Navosai Methodist Church hall last night.
He says government should give this assurance before the 5 year and 25 year development plans are implemented.
Rakikau says he was in the RFMF when the coups took place and witnessed how it affected people in his area.
He also asked the National Development plan team if government will consider punishing coup makers in the future.
The National development plan team accepted his oral submission by saying they are holding consultations around the country to get the views of what people may want in the future.
Another resident, Josese Muriwaqa then asked the consultation team to give an assurance if future governments would use the same development plan that is being currently formulated.
The consultation team says this development plan is being formulated with the hope that all future governments will use it.
