As "Friends to all and enemies to none”, Fiji will continue to strengthen its relationship with other countries through exploring new areas and opportunities, especially in security cooperation.
This was highlighted by the Minister of Defense and National Security Ratu Inoke Kubuabola while speaking at the opening of the National Security Strategy Awareness Workshop at the Novotel Convention Centre in Suva.
He says that the strategy will allow Fiji to effectively respond to threats through well-coordinated National and International measures within the framework of a mutual cooperative and comprehensive approach.
Kubuabola says that similar to most countries, Fiji is faced with an evolving security environment and the emergence of new security challenges and one of its priorities is to develop a strategy that would safeguard the National Security of our country and its people.
Kubuabola adds that it also provides the foundation for establishing a strong, effective and modern architecture and system with appropriate capability of responding to the evolving security needs in Fiji.
50 participants from various NGOs and embassies around the country were part of the National Security Strategy Awareness Program.
