The Nasinu Muslim College management has decided to install hidden security cameras around its school premises to monitor student movement and activities.
Fiji Muslim League Nasinu Branch President, Pashir Hamad said the cameras are being installed because students are taking advantage of the Ministry of Education’s zero-tolerance policy on corporal punishment.
He said the cameras will help teachers monitor students’ behavior and will also be specifically installed in areas where teachers may not have full presence.
Hamad added that the cameras will have 30 days of recording and will give teachers the advantage of always going back and looking at class footage.
The cameras will be installed in the next few weeks and will be fully functional by the beginning of Term One next year.
