The general secretary of the Fijian Teachers Association Maika Namudu has been sacked due to breach of his contract.
President of FTA, Gauna Halofaki said the decision to terminate Namudu's contract was made by the executive members of the board of FTA.
When questioned if they found any concrete evidence relating to the allegations against Namudu, Halofaki refused to comment.
However Halofaki said during Namudu's leave, he had written to the Council of Pacific Education and the Education International highlighting some issues he was not happy about like the leadership of FTA.
Halofaki said Namudu who has held the position for the past 17 years was handed his termination letter at his home over the weekend and he accepted it with a good heart.
Namudu was sent home last week due to some allegations against him.
He could not be reached for a comment.
