PowerNet Company Limited in New Zealand is sending a team of five line mechanics to Fiji to help restore electricity services devastated by Cyclone Winston.
PowerNet is one of the leading companies which develops, manages and maintains electricity network assets in New Zealand.
They responded to a call for help from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in New Zealand.
A crane truck used to lift and maneuver power poles is also being shipped to Fiji for the crew to use.
The group’s work will include reinstalling fallen transformers and other equipment.
