Forty‑nine people were killed in the attack, which took place at the Deans Ave and Linwood Ave mosques in Christchurch yesterday afternoon.

Ardern said more than 40 people are being treated for injuries sustained in the attack and two are in a critical condition.

One of them is four years old ‑ they have been transferred to Starship Hospital.

The child is the only person to have been transferred out of Christchurch Hospital so far.
