Fiji provides a vast range of opportunities to investors in the manufacturing and the services sectors, such as banking, insurance and tourism to name a few.
This was highlighted by the Minister for Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya at the opening of the New Zealand Fiji Business Council, Trade and Investment Seminar in Suva today.
Koya says Fiji has developed its niche in sports tourism, by hosting international games such as the PGA tour, World Surfing League and the most important event which is to be held on Friday is the Super Rugby Match between Chiefs and Crusaders.
He says this is only the second time in Super Rugby history that a match is being hosted outside the SANZAR grouping and they are very proud to be the host.
Koya says New Zealand contributed to 14% of total imports to Fiji in terms of trade, and exports to New Zealand accounts for approximately 6%of total exports in 2015.
Meanwhile Koya says a total of 186 projects with a proposed investment value of $260.31 million from New Zealand have been registered since 2011 and he is sure that these numbers will increase.
He says the Fijian Government has also undertaken review of policies to streamline processes to improve the investment approvals.
