A non-governmental organisation, the Social Empowerment and Education Program is now witnessing the development of their program in youths and women in six districts that they are currently serving.
Community facilitator Cema Rakodredre says that youths and women have now found their voice during community or village meetings, something that has not been encouraged in the past.
The six districts are in Tailevu, Cuvu and Naitasiri.
The district representative of Mua-i-Ra in Naitasiri, Jone Batiratu thanked the NGO and highlighted that since its inception two years ago there have been issues of great importance raised by youths and women in Naitasiri.
The workshop participants from the six districts also thanked the Social Empowerment and Education Program as it has empowered them to visit and get to know the people who are working in their respective Provisional Offices.
Rakodredre says that the relationship between people and their District Offices should be strengthened as it builds a better working relationship between the community and the government.
The Social Empowerment and Education Program and representatives of its biggest donor from Germany visited Lutu Village in Naitasiri yesterday where all workshop participants was also present.
