National Fire Authority is currently investigating the cause of the fire that partially damaged a wooden and corrugated iron house at Branch Road, Batinikama, Labasa last night.
NFA says the Labasa Fire Station was alerted at 9.42pm and when the fire crew reached the scene they had found the wooden and corrugated iron house partially on fire.
They say the fire crew then quickly extinguished the fire and managed to save the kitchen area of the house and a Toyota Hybrid vehicle parked approximately 7 meters from the house.
Acting Chief Fire Officer Waisea Mateiwai sends a reminder to everyone to take extra precautions during this Easter Holidays and to stay fire safe.
