The National Fire Authority has been conducting consultations with the public on the review of the National Fire Service Act 1994 in terms of Legislation and Amendments.
NFA Chief Executive Officer John O’Connor said before consulting the public about the review they held a workshop last month with various stakeholders.
O’Connor said consultations with the public is the part of the process and the response from the public has been overwhelming.
O’Connor added that they have also allowed a written submission from members of the community who wish to have a say in the review of the legislation.
He added that the NFA will now work on putting together a draft and solutions with the input of stakeholders and members of the public before circulating the draft to stakeholders and other officials.
