The National Disaster Management Office is still trying to establish contact again with people in Ono-i-Lau.
Director, Anare Leweniqila said that the last report they had was that many people were at the three evacuation centres.
Leweniqila says they have also told people in Southern Lau and Southern Kadavu to ensure that they spend the night in houses that are away from the coastline.
This is due to the heavy swells and sea flooding.
