The 28‑year‑old man who allegedly murdered his defacto wife early last month has been further remanded.
Usaia Kilaverata appeared before High Court Judge, Justice Priyantha Fernando.
The defense filed a bail application today and that the accused was willing to surrender his passport under strict bail conditions.
However the State objected to bail as it says the accused may flee the country because of the seriousness of the charge.
The bail ruling will be heard on the 26th of this month.
It is alleged that Kilaverata assaulted his 32‑year‑old defacto wife, Losana McGowan during a heated argument after returning from clubbing at about 3am in Suva last month.
