A 23-year-old mother who has been charged with one count of Criminal Intimidation and one count of Attempted Murder appeared before Nasinu Magistrate Sufia Hamza today.
It is alleged that Shahista Devi attempted to murder her 4-year-old son and threatened her mother-in-law.
It is alleged that Devi told her mother-in-law that she would kill her with a knife.
Magistrate Hamza has remanded Devi in custody and has transferred the case to the Suva High Court.
The case will be called again on the 18th of this month.
The magistrate has ordered that Devi is not to have any contact with her children.
The alleged incident happened in Nakasi on Monday.
