Most of the villagers do not attend church on Sundays - Katonitabua

Most of the villagers sleep on Sundays and do not attend church.

This was highlighted by the Permanent Secretary for iTaukei Affairs Naipote Katonitabua after they received many reports during the village by-law consultations of villagers not attending church.

Katonitabua says many villages want all the villagers to respect the church services on Sundays.

They also want the villagers to attend the church services on Sundays.

He also says that there have been no negative reports received during the village by-law consultations.

Katonitabua says the villagers are now well involved on village activities and particularly looking at the welfare and the well-being of the village.

He says there is a great amount of support from the elders of the village in terms of safeguarding tradition and culture.

Meanwhile, the Village By-Law consultations will commence in Kadavu on the 8th of next month.
