This was highlighted by Actor Internationally acclaimed New Zealand actor Temuera Morrison who is in the country and will be the special guest and main speaker at the Viti Spinal Injuries Association of Fiji Old Skool Ball.
Temuera adds that he is grateful for the opportunity to be able to play his little part as it is important to create more awareness on spinal cord injuries as well its care, management and rehabilitation.
The actor says that despite the little knowledge he has on Spinal Cord injuries he hopes to raise enough money at the Viti Spinal Injuries Association of Fiji Old Skool Ball to assist that will go towards the work of the Viti Spinal Injuries Association of Fiji, in among other things, building and restoring the homes and services of severely disabled people living in their own homes and villages.
Morrison has starred in movies such as Once Were Warriors, Star Wars and was the voice of Chief Tui, the father of the title character in Disney's Moana and has also starred in Shortland Street and will also be part of Aquaman.
Meanwhile the event will feature amazing auction prizes including travel, holidays, restaurants, and sports memorabilia including an All Blacks jersey signed and donated by Richie McCaw, and other memorabilia from Eric Rush.
Also featuring on the night will be spectacular entertainment coordinated by Igelese Ete with the Pasifika Voices choir who will sing songs from Moana.
The Viti Spinal Injuries Association of Fiji Old Skool Ball will be held at 6pm tonight at the Grand Pacific Hotel.
