More than 2,100 people braved rainy conditions yesterday to be part of the 2017 Vonu Uprising Music Festival.
Uprising General Manager James Pridgeon says people have come from as far as Savusavu to be part of the music festival and the event has continued to grow from strength to strength each year.
Pridgeon recalled that when the music festival first started, around 200 people were in attendance.
He says that an event of this kind is something that Fiji needs especially for the entertainment industry.
He says that Uprising has the option of keeping the event by the sea or moving it out to the rugby field next year to cater for the growing interest in the music festival.
Pridgeon has also confirmed that to celebrate 10 years of the music festival, talks are now underway to have an internationally acclaimed artist perform at next year's Uprising Music Festival.
The dates for next year's music festival will be confirmed at the end of this month.
