More speed cameras will be installed in the Western Division in the coming months in a bid to reduce road fatalities.
This has been confirmed by the Chairman of the Land Transport Authority Vijay Maharaj who says seven more speed cameras will be installed in the West as it appears that there are more road fatalities in the West.
According to Police Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra, 65 people have died on our roads so far this year.
40 road fatalities have been recorded in the Western Division, 14 deaths have been recorded in the Southern Division, four in the Eastern Division and seven road fatalities in the Northern Division.
Meanwhile, all speed and red light cameras have gone live from today around the country.
