More jobs will be created as various housing projects have already been launched around the country.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony in Matavolivoli, Nadi today, Minister of Housing Praveen Kumar said over the coming month the government will address the high demand for housing.
He also acknowledged and appreciated the assistance of the itaukei landowners from Saunaka village in Nadi on this project.
420 residential lots will be available when the Matavolivoli Subdivision Stage 2 project is completed.
Kumar said the first 250 lots will be ready by the end of this year while the remaining 170 lots are expected to be completed next year.
$8.5 million is the cost of the project which is funded by Housing Authority of Fiji.
