Investment Fiji has revealed that more Korean investors are showing interest in the Fijian economy and are exploring various investment opportunities.
Investment Fiji CEO Godo Mueller-Teut says Korean investors are not new to Fiji and it’s encouraging to see more of them.
Mueller-Teut says Korean investors can utilize Fiji’s strategic location in the region and invest in agriculture, renewable energy, tourism and the manufacturing sector.
Meanwhile, Mueller-Teut says in 2015, total exports to pacific island countries equated to $482.5 million, exceeding the total combined exports to New Zealand and Australia of $372 million.
He adds the government has set the platform for investment and growth by introducing a number of incentives such as low corporate taxes, tax-free regions and duty free importation of plants, machinery and equipment for initial establishment of the factory.
An 8 member delegation from the Korea-Fiji Friendship Association had preliminary discussions with Investment Fiji on the various investment opportunities in the country.
