Montfort Boys Town needs more funding as it is facing major challenges.
Principal Brother Jim Madavana says they have facilities to provide studies in nine trades but they are not able to do so because of limited funding.
While speaking at the Institutional Forum organized by the National Employment Centre, Madavana highlighted that they get around $400,000 from the Ministry of Education through the Fiji Higher Education Commission.
He says this amount is not enough as they have 25 teachers and the funding mostly goes in paying the salaries.
He says the primary focus of starting Montfort Boys Town was to tap into the needs of the rural youth and if they charge them fees then many of them will not continue their studies.
120 students are currently studying at Montfort Boys Town.
