Miss Patel Dhaba, Shiksha Shivanjani Lata who was inspired by the reigning Miss Tebara, Natasha Nikita Lal says she is advocating on Women Empowerment in this year’s festival.
Lata who is studying Early Childhood Education and Care at the University of the South Pacific says she was amazed by Lal’s courage and wished to be an inspiration to other women like her.
The 19-year-old says she wanted to show women that even if you are shy, you can always get involved in pageants like these.
Lata says support from her family and school was immense and she is very grateful for it.
The 2019 Vodafone Tebara Carnival will see seven Queen contestants vying for the crown.
The theme is “Working towards a safe environment for all”.
The Sarong judging for the Queens will begin at 7 o’clock tonight.
