Miss Nadi to advocate on climate change at TFL Miss Fiji Pageant

TFL Miss Fiji Pageant contestant Ashika Esther Menon will be advocating on her theme ‘Educating and empowering children about climate change’.

18-year-old Menon who represents Nadi town is a year 13 student at the Nadi Sangam SKM College.

Menon believes that children should be taught about climate change from a young age.

Menon says after the pageant she hopes to work with the municipality and use the platform as Miss Nadi to go to schools and start off youth groups that create awareness on climate change.

The TFL Miss Fiji Pageant began at the Thurston Garden in Suva yesterday and 11 contestants are vying for the crown.

The first public judging will be held on Wednesday.

Miss Fiji will be crowned on Saturday.

The winner will represent Fiji in the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant which will be held in Nadi in December.
