The much anticipated Miss Fiji Pageant will be held in Suva and 11 beauties are vying for the coveted crown.

The pageant will be hosted by the Miss Fiji Pageant Association in collaboration with the Suva City Council and the Hibiscus Festival Committee.

The pageant begins on the 21st of October and will end on the 28th.

Chairman of the Hibiscus Festival Committee Hirdesh Prasad says they are expecting 11 contestants and they are from Lautoka, Nadi, Ba, Tavua, Sigatoka, Suva, Nasinu, Nausori, Rakiraki, Labasa and Savusavu.

Prasad says in preparation for the festival the 3 main committees, the Miss Fiji Pageant Association Working Committee, SCC Host Committee and the Hibiscus Festival Committee are collaborating to ensure that the necessary planning is done.

He says it is important to note that there is a lot of work involved in the planning of the programme, the judging, logistics, stalls and entertainment.

Prasad says the team is confident that Suva can host a successful Miss Fiji Pageant 2017.

The winner will represent Fiji in the Miss Pacific Island Pageant which will be held in Nadi in December.

The Miss Fiji Pageant was held in Nadi last year.
