With a day away from this year’s Miss Hibiscus crowing, Miss Chicken Express, Akeneta Moce said if she is to win the crown she will use the platform to reach out to single mothers who are in need.
Moce said she will reach out to rural and urban communities such as the squatter settlements to set up workshops and empower young and single mothers.
The 20-year-old said she is passionate about the empowerment of single and young mothers as she was raised only by her mother.
She said her mother attended workshops in order to run her own business and provide an income to support her five siblings.
Moce said this year’s Hibiscus Festival has allowed her to advocate on financial independence for women in rural areas.
The Vodafone Hibiscus Festival will end tomorrow with the crowning of the Miss Hibiscus 2014.
