The iTaukei Land Trust Board has stressed there is a lot misinformation being propagated by certain landowners and in social media platforms about Hydro Fiji proposing to build three hydro dams on the land owned by the villagers of Wainikoroiluva, Wainikovu and Waivaka in Namosi.
TLTB Deputy General Manager Operations, Research and Development Solomoni Nata says landowners have been thoroughly consulted in all the three projects, more than three times.
Nata confirms that they will soon issue a media release on the subject.
Meanwhile, in the public consultation at the FTA Hall in Knolly Street, some of the members of these landowning units living in Namosi and Suva claimed that they have not been consulted by various agencies and stakeholders, and also say that the people in the villages that agreed to the construction of the dam do not represent the whole landowning unit.
They claim that the hydro dam will increase the river level which is normally used as a crossing by villagers.
