The Education Ministry will not tolerate students that come to school with a hooligan’s approach.
This strong warning has been sent by Permanent Secretary for Education Iowane Tiko after two school brawls occurred at the Suva Bus Stand last week.
The brawl resulted in an 18‑year‑old student being charged with assault.
Tiko says they have addressed the issue with both of the schools and police are continuing their own investigation.
Tiko says apart from the school brawls they are also looking into complaints received about students unruly behaviour in buses.
Two students and a tertiary school student were also taken in for questioning and released as part of the school brawl investigations.
