The Minister for Health has asked for a full report from the Sub Divisional Medical Officer Navua in relation to a case involving a seven week old baby who was given a wrong injection.
Spokesperson Sunil Chandra said the Minister will act on the report once it is out.
Chandra said the seven week old baby was taken to the Navua Hospital for her first injection where she was given the wrong vaccine.
He added the baby was injected with Human Papillomavirus Vaccine (HPC) which is usually given to a 13 year old girl.
He said the baby was transferred to the CWM Hospital and is in a stable condition.
He added the nurse involved is still at work.
