Ministry to continue support of traditional knowledge and skills

The Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs has pledged to continue to support, promote and revitalize activities and events that safeguard traditional knowledge and skills.

This was highlighted by the Acting Permanent Secretary for I-Taukei Affairs Saimoni Waibuta while handing over a $2000 donation to the Pacific Blue Foundation Organizing Committee ahead of the annual Traditional Sailing Canoe Race that will be held at the Civic Centre foreshore on the 18th of next month.

The ministry has wished the organizing committee well in their preparation towards the competition and as they take a lead role in organizing the event, revitalizing the I-Taukei knowledge and skills in canoe building which the island of Kabara and Moce are renowned for.
