The Ministry of Youth and Sports has today signed a memorandum of understanding cementing it’s ongoing collaboration with the Peace Corps.
The MOU will see more volunteers serving different areas of the ministry to complement the work of sectors such as education and health.
Permanent secretary Alison Burchell says the Peace corps’ currently has five volunteers working with officials in Vunidawa, Suva, Labasa and Savusavu and this MOU will be welcoming more.
Peace Corps’ Fiji director Dennis McMahon says their current programme includes the Community Youth Empowerment Project that focuses on enabling youth development through voluntary work in a range of community development projects.
