The Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources has resolved 72% of the complaints it received in the 2018/2019 financial year.
In their submission to the Public Accounts Committee Permanent Secretary Malakai Finau says most of the complaints received were in relation to services provided by the Ministry and also the processing of new leases.
He says in the past years they have resolved 100% complaint cases.
Finau says they have appointed complaints officers to deal with the complaints.
He also says they ensure they follow up through emails for evidence purposes and also call the complainants for their urgent responses.
Finau says last year they set up an Online Complain Database to ensure efficient record keeping.
The Permanent Secretary says there are also complaint forms accessible to the public in their offices in the Central, Western and Northern divisions.
