Market vendors who continue to sell undersized crabs and not adhere to warning letters already given by the Ministry of Fisheries will be taken to court.
This comes after enforcement teams confiscated 579 undersized crabs from markets across the Suva and Nausori corridor over the past 2 weeks.
The Ministry of Fisheries says the penalty for selling undersized crabs is 3 months imprisonment or a fine of up to $500.
The undersized crabs confiscated were released back to the sea.
