The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has launched its new Action Plan to address cases of violence against women and children in its health services.
The Action Plan will provide adequate, quality, accessible treatment and care for cases of violence related to women and children and will also ensure policy direction and good governance for health care workers in Fiji.
While speaking at the national consultation for the new action plan this morning, Assistant Minister for Health Veena Bhatnagar said the Ministry is committed to serving the people of the country holistically in addressing issues pertaining to violence against women and children.
She said that the new action plan will provide health workers with a guideline to follow when addressing issues related to violence against women and children.
The Acting National Adviser for Family Health Dr Rachel Devi also highlighted in the consultation this morning that their discussions will also include the reviewing of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services guidelines for comprehensive case management.
