The Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation has embarked on a new initiative, to increase its reach to the members of the public.
The idea of holding public consultations has been mooted by the Minister Rosy Akbar and its aim is to provide firsthand information to the public, in particular the social welfare programs.
The first meeting will be held today at the Civic Auditorium in Labasa.
Akbar will also officially open the International Rural Women’s Day celebrations which are organized by the UN Women and Ministry of Women to recognize the contributions of rural women.
