Minister for Education Mahendra Reddy has reminded the students taking part in the Girl Guides to come out of their comfort zone and face the real world.
While closing the Girl Guide Camp in Nadroga last night, Reddy told the students that the camp is one of the means to learn about some of the things that have been taken for granted in their lives.
Reddy said that this system defines the future of the students and if this fails the country fails.
He said that the events such as this give a chance to young people to prepare for an independent living to be better citizens of the country.
He said most of young people spend their time under the care of their parents or relatives but exposure to outside environment gives a chance to see how difficult it is to tackle with different situations.
Meanwhile, 690 primary girls and 120 teachers from all over the country were part of the camp.
