Minister for Women Children and Poverty Alleviation, Mereseini Vuniwaqa acknowledged the partnership between the Ministry and Tranquil Textiles which will improve the lives of senior citizens, persons with disabilities and children in state homes as well.
Vuniwaqa highlighted that the Ministry is willing to work closely with Tranquil Textiles in meeting their objective.
She says with this assistance the Ministry will continue to reach out and assist as many needy families in Fiji as possible to ensure that they are able to access the assistance that they have the potential to convert to a sustainable income for their families.
Director of Tranquil Textiles, Brad Wilson says they produce knitted garments for school, corporate and work wear sectors in Australia and New Zealand.
Wilson says they have a large quantity of redundant knitting yarn which they are prepared to donate, and are looking for an organization that can help assist to find people in Fiji that can use it to make clothes or other items, for the Fijian communities that are in need.
The Permanent Secretary for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Josefa Koroivueta visited the Tranquil Textiles in Nadi, accompanied by the Director Social Welfare, Rupeni Fatiaki and Assistant Director for Child Services, Ela Tukutukulevu.
