The FijiFirst Party said it has set a National Minimum Wage Rate of $2 an hour for the first time in the country to ensure that the least paid workers are provided with some relief.
While speaking to about thirty people at Nasinu Sangam School, Proposed candidate Jone Usamate said they are about to investigate and look into other wage regulation orders and will eventually look at revising the National Minimum Wage Rate.
Usamate said Dr Mahendra Reddy was the brain behind the minimum wage rate.
He also said that they have set the wage rate at a level which all the employers can pay.
Dr Mahendra Reddy who is also a proposed candidate for FijiFirst said that none of the parties have fulfilled the dreams of the parents of having free education and free bus fare for students.
He said the FijiFirst is not promising things but it is doing things for the people
