Nadi resident Mick Beddoes has urged the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Justice, Law and Human Rights to give a recommendation to government to make the provisions in the National Flag Protection Bill also applicable to the current flag.
While making an individual submission to the committee, Mick Beddoes said he opposes the idea as people were not consulted on whether they want the National Flag to be changed.
He has challenged government to demonstrate their confidence of the people’s support for their actions and allow a referendum.
