The Methodist Church in Fiji's Festival of Praise and Gift‑giving began today at Furnival Park in Suva.
Primary and secondary schools, tertiary institutions and business house choirs are taking part in the Festival of Praise.
The fundraising part of the festival will be opened tomorrow by the President of the Methodist Church in Fiji Reverend Dr. Tevita Banivanua.
The Methodist Church in Fiji's Secretary for Communication Reverend James Bhagwan says the Annual Conference or Bose Ko Viti's representative session will begin next Monday and conclude on Friday.
Reverend Bhagwan says the General Secretary of the World Council of Churches Reverend Dr. Olav Fyske Tveit will also be part of the Conference.
He says Reverend Tveit will meet with the President of Fiji and the church leaders from the Fiji Council of Churches.
Rev Tveit will also be meeting with the COP23 Presidency secretariat and attend a roundtable of regional ecumenical institutions which includes the Pacific Theological College and the Pacific Conference of Churches.
