The Methodist Church in Fiji has been exempted from paying the fringe benefit tax this year following a decision made by government.
Secretary of Communications, Reverend James Bhagwan said they have been struggling to pay the fringe benefit tax because of financial difficulties faced by the registered religious organisations.
He said the Fiji Council of Churches then raised the concerns of its members to the government.
