The Methodist Church of Fiji says it remains concerned for the psychological wellbeing of the young woman known as Rosi Ni Viti who has made a number of claims in a 30 minute audio recording being circulated on social media.
Secretary for Communications and Overseas Mission, Reverend James Bhagwan says she is a minor and they urge her parents and guardians to provide care for her.
Reverend Bhagwan says the Methodist Church in Fiji leadership has been made aware of these recordings and they have held discussions.
They are also investigating the issue of the Methodist Church minister associated with these claims.
The Methodist Church would like remind its members and the general public that as per their Code of Conduct, the church remains apolitical and will only speak to issues of concern rather than get involved in party politics.
The church also urges it’s members and the general public to be cautious of what they read on social media.
They also urge the media to be responsible in reporting claims and comments on social media as to do so may give undue validity to those claims and comments.
On the issue of alleged dreams and visions, the church says it is important that people not be carried away ‑ it is possible to give too much importance to what happens in a dream.
It also says that the psychology of dreams is complex and confusing, and the interpretation of dreams is not an exact science, by any stretch.
Meanwhile police now say that they will not make any comments on Rosi Ni Viti who made a number of serious allegations against some prominent people in the country.
