More than $540,000 has been collected in the Methodist Church’s Festival of Praise and Gifts at Furnival Park in Toorak.
Secretary of Communication, Reverend James Bhagwan says this was collected during the festival while more than $3.1 million is from the church’s annual levy for the 2014 to 2015 period.
Bhagwan says half a million dollars will be used for the construction of a new official residence for the President of the Church in Davuilevu.
He says 50% of the annual levy will be used for the Davuilevu Theological College while another 50% will go towards the operation and running of other departments within the church.
The Festival of Praise and Gifts ended yesterday while the Annual Conference will start on Monday at the Centenary Church.
