The Methodist Church in Fiji has collected a total of $2.1m at the end of last week’s Solevu or Festival of Praise and Gift giving.

The Methodist Church in Fiji's Secretary for Communication Reverend James Bhagwan says they are very grateful to have been able to raise a substantial amount at of the end of yesterday.

Reverend Bhagwan has also confirmed that the Annual Conference or Bose Ko Viti's representative session will begin tomorrow and conclude on Friday.

He says they will be looking at a number of social issues that have been affecting the country and resolutions brought up from their various divisions.

He adds that they will also have a senior representative from the Fiji Police Force to talk about the increase in crime rate and how police and the Methodist church can work together to address these issues.

Reverend Bhagwan says that along with the discussion of the various issues raised from the 58 different divisions of the Methodist church around Fiji, tomorrow the Methodist church will elect a new president.
