The meningococcal vaccination campaign will begin today in the Central Division and Ra Subdivision targeting 110,000 people between 1 to 19 years old.
The overall target is 333,876 those aged 1 to 19 years.
The possible side effects of the meningococcal vaccine may include soreness, redness and swelling, fever, loss of appetite and headache.
Nurses that will be administering the vaccines have undergone training.
Children need parental consent to be vaccinated.
Four people all below the age of 5 years have died from meningococcal disease this year.
